CLOUD CHASER
Track 1: “Bloom” This sets the pace for the journey. The long journey into the cosmos is just beginning. Starting with the drone and atmosphere one is quickly bought into an unsettling environment. Where will this mission take us physically and sonically? Bloom gives an ounce of hope in our current unsettling times. Perhaps we will find safely and comfort in a different galaxy.
Track 2: “Levitation” We have encountered our first trials in this mission. There are meteors storms, unknown bodies, shapes, dream and nightmares in this other world we are approaching. There is a glimmer of hope. The retro style synths carry us through this medium paced jog as the pads add counterpoint to wrap up the melodic structure. The tune ends on a high note and prepares us for the next chapter.
Track 3: “Violet Echoes” fits right in the middle of haunting and up-lifting. I feel this is my personal favourite. A steppy beat instantly gives the head something to nod to. Analog synths come and go to the tune of a distant memory. The composition flips into something more uplifting yet again displaying the concept behind this ep. Free flowing change is good in life and all aspects of music. Break molds and rise up.
Track 4: “Travesty” with hints of Idm this piece is overly dramatic. Swirling synths guide the story. A romantic song for the cosmos.
Track 5: “Cascade” This number is reminiscent of an 80s new wave ender. Constant rolling arpeggios and analog pads swell to give emphasis and build over the full duration of the track. The song uplifts towards a bright light of energy. The beat every so simply carries it home.
Track 6: “Star Hunter” this slightly melancholic piece guides us to our final mission. Dreamy and atmospheric. Yet again the simple beats act as reinforcement for all of the synth layers just add intensity.
Track 7: “Spun” This track shoots us even further into other galaxies. Spun has intensity and drive. Picture yourself behind the wheel of the spacecraft. Fuel is almost out and the boosters barely have any juice left. It’s like getting swallowed into a black hole. This concludes the first chapter in Cloud Chaser’s production efforts. The next chapter will be a continuation. Where will be go from here?
