Dagerlöff & Galner

Dagerlöff and Galner is a French duo that seeks to create their own vision of modern music, including elements of futuristic synths, Japanese video games, progressive jazz or epic textured soundtracks.

After "The Parallax Test" - a searing cauldron of transcendental digital groove with a progressive touch - the duo returns with a soundtrack for Häxan: a cult film about witchcraft from 1922, by Benjamin Christensen re-issued in 2021 by Potemkine.

Through illustrations from medieval books and film re-enactments, witchcraft is carefully portrayed and examined. From the witches' Sabbath to the interrogations of the Inquisition, the classic illustrations come to life in eerie spectral visions using all the special effects available at the time: superimpositions, mock-ups, jump cuts, stop motion, make-up and prosthetics.
